John 19:2 The soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put a purple robe on Him.

Cacti don’t appear to be specifically mentioned in the Bible, but “thorns” are mentioned often. Most notably, Jesus was given a crown of thorns to mock Him as the “King of the Jews,” prior to the crucifixion. Nonetheless, the Son of God’s beauty and glory shone through the thorns. Like Jesus, the beauty and glory of Cacti can be seen in abundance through their amazing variety of shapes, colors and flowers, despite their thorny surface. They have become one of my favorite subjects to photograph.
