WHO AM I?
First and foremost, I am a child of the Most High, having been saved by grace through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a six-year-old in 1966. I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1960. I am happily married and my wife (Marylee) and I will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in August of 2023. I have two grown married children, Benjamin and his wife Lacy and granddaughter Lydia and Sarah and her husband Matt and grandson Silas.
I am the Worship Pastor and Church Administrator for Morongo Faith Chapel on the Morongo Indian reservation in Banning, CA. I recently retired from a career at the Morongo Band of Mission Indians so that I can put a full-time effort into serving God through ministry and photography. In addition to serving God in whatever form that may take, I am also passionate about writing, song writing, singing, playing guitar and photography, all for the glory of God. Finally, I am an avid and loyal sports fan sticking with the same teams for decades regardless of their level of success (LA Dodgers, Dallas Cowboys, Michigan Wolverines and NASCAR). I live with my wife and a cat named Kitty (quite an original name, right?), in Cherry Valley, California.
PHOTOGRAPHY HISTORY
I can remember my first camera. I was probably 8 or 9 and with my parents’ permission, I ordered it from a special offer on a box of cereal. It was a bit of an oddball shape and was probably not worth much more than the box of cereal it was advertised on, but nonetheless, it was my first introduction to photography.
Obviously, I have upgraded my camera on numerous occasions over the years, but my favorite subject has not changed; our Creator's magnificence on display seemingly everywhere we go.
As I add additional photographs, you will notice that my favorite subjects are most often small creatures (e.g., birds, insects, flowers, and the occasional deer or rodent). But frankly, all of God's magnificence, from a spectacular sunset to the crashing surf is subject to being captured when it catches my eye.
It is my sincere hope that anyone who might fancy one of my photographs will be equally inspired, not so much by my abilities, but by the handiwork of the Almighty! In fact, everything I do, whether it's photography, writing, working, playing, singing, I DO IT ALL TO BRING GLORY to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Finally, I am blessed by anyone that chooses to purchase one of my photos. However, I'm far more blessed when I hear that someone out there has received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and as a result, have secured their final destination of Heaven when they depart this earth. It's just as the well known Bible verse John 3:16 declares: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him will not perish but receive eternal life!
